Rally at the State House on March 18
Poker is not a crime
Don't let Governor Patrick's casino bill make it one
The GPSTS is co-sponsoring a rally at the State House on Tuesday, March 18 to protest the governor's casino bill. (H. 4307, full text) A provision tucked into the bill would make any Massachusetts resident who plays online poker, or any form of online wager game, a criminal — even if real money is not at stake. Players could be punished by a fine of up to $25,000, or two years of prison. And no one can seem to tell inquiring minds how the provision wound up in the bill. Help us protect the citizens of Massachusetts from this by showing your support at our rally. LET US KNOW YOU'RE COMING!. Coffee and doughnuts provided.
WHAT: A rally against the Massachusetts Casino Expansion Bill before a public hearing on it.
WHO: GPSTS, led by founder and president Prof. Charles Nesson; the Massachusetts Poker Players Alliance; concerned citizens.
WHEN: Tuesday, March 18. Rally at 8:30 AM. Hearing at 10:00 AM.
WHERE: Rally at the Shaw 54th Regiment Memorial, across from the Massachusetts State House. Hearing in Gardner Auditorium, Massachusetts State House.
GET THE WORD OUT: Please show your support and spread awareness of the rally and of this important issue!
